We started Dove & Bear in 2021 in order to supply eco conscious faith based clothing.
All garments are hand finished in Newark on Trent, Nottinghamshire, UK – a small Northern town where we are surrounded with inspiration in this once powerhouse of textiles and cloth making in the North.
The idea for Dove & Bear was spawned from a lifelong struggle to get minimalist clothing. We wanted to create a brand that would spark discussion and interfaith understanding. Someone asks another person ‘what is that on your t-shirt?’ and the conversation begins.
Just remember though – don’t discuss religion or politics…
Bear has had a lifelong interest in history and theology and felt there was a gap in the market for people of alternative faiths to buy minimalist contemporary clothing that subtly reflects their beliefs – thus Dove & Bear was born!
Dove is a trained artist and lifeflong crafter – learning to knit at 10 years old. Inspired by music, politics and equality Dove loves the idea of subtle theology to reflect political stance, moral compass and minimalist fashion. You don’t always have to be loud and proud – your t-shirt can just say it.
We work alongside each other to create high quality embroidered products, focusing on sustainability, historical accuracy and above all comfortable, everyday contemporary t-shirts!
